MCI was incorporated in 1975 by a group of scientists & technocrats. Production started with a small seed capital and with modest infrastructure. The founders had patented few processes for the production of "Speciality Basic Monolithic Linings" suitable for use in "Steel melting furnaces".
This innovative step helped MCI indigenise the production process by allowing locally available products to replace expensive imported material. Owing to its success, the production grew by leaps and bounds leading to its present day status.
Today MCI is a well known name and has grown into a huge Industry with 4 major plants strategically located across India. These plants now cater to the whole of india as well as International markets. MCI also has Marketing offices in all major cities of India backed up by a strong Sales force.
