Thirumalai Chemicals Ltd. Is a publicly owned company with shares traded in the stock market in India. The company's first plant to manufacture Phthalic Anhydride was set up in 1973 at Ranipet 100 km from Chennai in South India. In the last 25 years, it has grown into a highly profitable enterprise, rapidly expanding into the manufacture of Maleic Anhydride, Fumaric Acid and Malic Acid and various organic acids and derivatives. In 1994 TCL set up TCL Industries (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a joint venture project in Malaysia to produce Maleic Anhydride . The plant is located at Kemaman in Terengganu State of Malaysia.
After the commissioning of the ambitious expansion projects at Ranipet in South India, TCL ranks among the largest producers in the world of Phthalic Anhydride, Maleic Anhydride, Fumaric Acid and Malic Acid.
TCL has well planned and widespread infrastructure with regional offices in major cities of India. TCL's international marketing strategy aims at direct relationship with end users to provide efficient service to the customers. It is supported by local specialised agents around the world.

Products :
We are manufacture and markets organic acids, anhydrides and derivatives for the plastics, paints, resin industries and additives for the food and feed industry. TCL offers the following products : Phthalic nhydride, Maleic anhydride, Fumaric acid, Malic acid, DL Tartaric acid, Maleic acid, Succinic Acid, Succinic Anhydride, Phthalimide. Plasticizers : Diethyl phthalate (DEP), Dibutyl maleate (DBM), Dioctyl maleate (DOM), Dibutyl fumarate, Dioctyl fumarate. Products under development : Hexahydrophthalic anhydride (HHPA) and Succinimide. We provide service such as : Storage and Distribution Terminal : TCL operates a Shore Tank Terminal at Chennai, for storage and distribution of chemicals / solvents. This is the first privately managed petrochemical terminal in South India. The terminal consists of twelve special epicoated product tanks to handle products such as Orthoxylene, Paraxylene and Ethylene glycol. The capacities of the tanks range from 150 to 2,000 Cu.Mtrs. Special facilities such as Nitrogen inert blanketing are available. The terminal is connected by dedicated pipelines to deep draft berths at the port, which can handle tank vessels upto 40,000 DWT and with 32 ft draft.
