PI industries Limited originated in 1961 from a public limited company, Mewar Oil & General Mills Ltd.Which was established in 1946. The business of pesticides was undertaken through a division called "Pesticides India". In order to reflect its new varied businesses, the Company's name was changes to PI Industries Limited (PIIL) in 1992-93.
The years 1974-75 saw PIIL grow into a manufacturer of basic pesticides and extention of marketing across the nation. The 80s witnessed enhancement of its product range and growing marketing clout.
The Company's range of technical grade pesticides increased from two to five in 1991-92.
In 1993, PIIL commissioned a modern and highly flexible chemicals manufacturing unit at Panoli in Gujarat with state-of-the-art analytical facilities. It has facilities to carry out a broad spectrum of chemical reactions for manufacturing pesticides, intermediates, fine chemicals and custom synthesis.

Manufacturer & Exporters of - pesticides, intermediates, fine chemicals, crop protection chemicals, thermo plastic polyurethanes, polymer compounding and custom synthesis. Custom Synthesis - Complete custom synthesis, techno-commercial evaluation, chemical process development, lab and pilot scale-up and commercial production of agrochemicals, intermediates and fine chemicals. Excellent track record of development and supply of complex chemicals in given time frame. Excellent production facilities backed by highly developed QA and project management systems complying with regulatory requirement. Ability to conclude long term supply agreements quickly. Plant Engineering - PIIL takes up turnkey projects. Services provided by it, include the following: Evaluation Process Design Cost Estimates Basic and Detail Engineering Project Management Procurement Installation and Commissioning Polymers - Manufacturer of various grades of engineering plastics and compounds.
