Since it's establishment in 1961, Shanghai Research Institute of Synthetic Resins has been working hard for research efficiency and technology innovation. Through unremitting efforts, Shanghai Research Institute of Synthetic Resins has achieved great success in terms of engineering plastics and plastic alloy, special synthetic resins, adhesive, water treatment technology and testing technology for polymer materials. To satisfy the internal developmental needs of R&D and production and external fierce competition in marketing circumstances, Shanghai Research Institute of Synthetic Resins has rebuilt five R&D center, four manufacturing workshop, four holding subsidiary company, 13 function departments in charge of respective business. Shanghai Research Institute was assessed as High Technology enterprise and passed ISO9001 Quality System conformity in 2000. The products of the Institute are sold nationwide and are exported to USA, Japan, Europe and other countries and areas.

In the past years, Shanghai Research Institute of Synthetic Resins has not only been devoting much attention to putting research results into civil products, but also undertaken tens of important research projects at national, ministrial and municipal levels, it's products have been used successfully on satellites, rockets and airplanes. Because of the great contributions made for the aerospace technologies, the Research Institute has won rewards from the National Scientific & Technological Commission, Chinese Petrochemical Industrial Bureau and Shanghai Municipality.

Shanghai Research Institute of Synthetic Resins is self-perfecting continuously, it puts emphasis on the communication and cooperation with the outside world. It is the National Adhesive Information Center, Heteroaromatic Ring Resin Information sub-Center under Synthetic Resins & Plastic Information Center and Polymer Material Testing Station of Shanghai Testing Center. It is also the director unit of Chinese Engineering Plastic Industrial Society, Chinese Adhesive Industrial Society, Shanghai Bonding Technology Society and Shanghai New Material Society. The Institute edits and publishes 《Chinese Adhesives》. It has set up an after-sales service center for the twins crew extruder in cooperated with KruppWerner & Pfleiderer GmbH.

Shanghai Research Institute of Synthetic Resins will always insist on scientific administration and keeping ahead in science and technology field.
